Bits And Pieces



Right at this moment I'm savouring myself reading this hilarious book..... I know it is not a new released but it's the first book by Sophie Kinsella that I'm reading after loads of recommendations and suggestions from a friend (she actually recommended the shopaholic series, but I'm not sure which one to get so I grabbed this one instead)....been enjoying it so far and seize every  opportunity  to read it even though with the tight routine... These few weeks, I have a sudden urge to read something light/endearing to balance up with my busy schedule, so on Sunday I managed to get hold on these two books..... Norwegian Wood is recommended by my other friend.....it's my happy little moment...........

  Today I'm so happy to see my hydrangea flowers changed colour to light purple.....it has been flowering since last week and I'm so excited about it. Initially, I thought the colour would be just the same like the last time it was flowering that is light blue....never thought that it would change in just one day... The pic above was taken yesterday, check out the slight difference of colour, it is not as rich as today's...  Anyway, I'm so grateful and realise that I'm not that hopeless with flowering plants, after all....am thinking of planting more after this.....

It happened unplanned and unexpected.......While we were busy getting ready to go out to the craft shop (to get the supply for Felt fabrics) and our favourite grocery store (a.k.a Giant) yesterday, my daughter who is doing her practical in PD texted me saying that she would be needing her black dress for a function on Sunday....Okay, I replied thinking perhaps we could send it by post or something.....then, suddenly my hubby called her and said that we were heading to PD delivering the dress right to her....What??? I asked, I found it hard to believe hubby's compulsive idea of going down to PD when we were planning to do so, but that's the way with my hubby as always... To make the story short, we went to PD right after we stopped by a craft shop in PJ to find felt fabrics for the 'twins'. Amazingly, they didn't stir at the idea of going to the beach as they would normally react... they were too eager to get the fabrics to be thinking of the beach at that time....

Today, when the world is celebrating valentine's day my family is celebrating something else (we are not celebrating valentine's day) that is the birthday of my first born. It is not much of celebrating, actually, since everybody is busy including the birthday boy.....but the most important thing for us is the thought....and our normal birthday celebration is either buying a cake to take home or having dinner together (if everyone in the family is around). Of late, however, buying the birthday cake seemed to be the better option and for his birthday this time we will probably celebrate it tomorrow as it is  a public holiday in Malaysia. In reality, it is a bigger scale of birthday celebration when the world is celebrating Prophet Muhammad's (SAW)  birthday.. Anyway, I just want to wish happy birthday to my boy and hope he will be blessed for the rest of his life and be a good role model for his siblings..... My birthday boy when he was one year......  

My 'twins' have this new found passion for FELT fabrics and on Saturday, while I was at school they managed to talk their dad into taking them to Wangsa Walk mall where they could buy FELT fabrics...along with colourful buttons of different colours and shapes and other accessories.....it costs them about RM 50 but they were all smiles when they got home.... Upon reaching home, they started to work with it ( no homework for today, said Mimi ) and they created  beautiful crafts for each of us and also some key chains to be sold to their friends at school.... calculator casing for dad... and also one for each of them.... a bookmark for mama..... Keychains and handphone covers to be sold.... My twins, being as young as they are, really know how to start a business and they made all these and  lots more in just two days.....if only they have the same passion for their studies....

I 've been trying to live healthily since early this year as more and more the people I know seem to suffer from chronic diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart attack and what not..... Last month, my hubby went for a check up and the doctor said that his cholesteral level is increasing from 5.3 to 5.5 since his previous check up two years ago (it should be below 5.2).....he had been warned by the doctor to lower it down or else he will put him under medication after the next check up (after three months).  It had really opened his eyes on healthy diet, which right after the check up he tries to control his eating habits and watches out for what he is eating. Inevitably, it also made me to be more health conscious and follow suit (mine was 4.7 in 2009 and didn't bother to check it up again after that). Anyway, I'm hoping that at least mine is maintained at that level..... so, now hubby and I are trying to live healthily by living green.....  Other than cutting down on fat,

This boy may looks as adorable as the rabbit he is holding, but sometimes he is driving me crazy.  His teachers have been complaining about his unfinished homework and that had alerted me to be more firm with him.  He is going to sit for an important exam this year and still having this  devil may care attitude towards his studies...grrrr....He literally makes me sit next to him for hours to finish a few simple Mathematics problems and turns away from his book when I'm not looking......   Being a teacher myself, I feel that I'm losing control with him..I maybe able to handle hundreds of students but I think I'm failing in teaching my own son (too bad).....Good thing that I'm sending him to tuition starting this month...

Yesterday, while the Chinese were celebrating the year of rabbit, we took the chance to visit the rabbit farm in Bukit Badong, Kuala Selangor. My kids had been wanting to go since last year but only yesterday we got the chance to do so. It was a nice kampung area and the the farm is actually at the owner's house compound. It was a good experience for them to know the many species/breeds of rabbits on display and got the chance to play with them on loose. There are about 3,000 rabbits in the farm. The entrance...... They can even feed the rabbit with carrot.... There is also a peacock and a horse.... Cute cuddly rabbits to play with.... the kids managed to coax their dad into buying these two chinchillas....  Now, they have four rabbits in the cage........

Look at today's date....OMG! it's the first of February already .. ermm..how fast time flies (they say time flies when we have a good time, but did I have good times in Jan?) Well...Let's see, actually I have this intention to write a reflection at the end of every month in this blog, so that I can keep track with all the achievements and happenings throughout the month. January had been a hectic month with all the plannings, meetings, deadlines and executions, but so far so good...none of the those aforesaid matters is outstanding, except for the ongoing projects(huhu, projects make them sound very important.....but they are....) I'm well aware that I haven't written any goals or resolutions for this year, but I've made a mental note of it and here it goes:  have a healthy lifestyle get more organized - at work and home be a better wife, mother and teacher  read 10 novels for this year  spend more quality time with my family I know this list might seem
