Bits And Pieces

My hubby's youngest sister's wedding reception was held on 17 March at hubby's hometown and the following day was at the groom's place. Since she is the youngest in the family and probably the last one to be held at my in-laws', it was rather big by "kampung's" standard. All the family members were helping out doing 'rewang' and it was the most tiring wedding that I've ever attended. It was a kind of wedding that I didn't get to enjoy and be part of... Due to some last minute changes, my daughters and I had to cook for the 'makan berdamai' and we only got to change to our new dresses only after we've finished cooking at noon.  And by the time we were all exhausted and didn't even get the energy to take photos of our finished products...huhu... However, we had to come out and entertain the guests and relatives ( my mom and siblings came all the way from Kedah to Johor, so of course we need to entertain them).  ...

On the last day of 2011, we went for one day trip to Johor. It was partly intentional coz actually it was a wedding invitation by hubby's former boss (so we really need to attend no matter how far it is). We started off very early in the morning, just before 8.00 right after having breakfast of nasi lemak that I'd prepared in the wee hours of the morning. The wedding reception was done at   IOI Palm Villa Golf and Country, Kulai .  It was a nice and cosy place. We arrived there quite early, at around 11.30 and the bride and the groom haven't yet arrived, so the pelamin (dais) was still empty. Nonetheless, there were guests who were obviously earlier than us and about to leave when we had just arrived. Besides, we were being entertained by a group of great local vocalists... This girl in hijab sang both of my favourite songs beautifully,  "Hero" by Mariah Carey and "Because you love me" by Celine Dion. We stayed for about half an hour and had ...

I haven't got the luxury of time to blog lately even though it's school holidays... been busy attending to my children and other things... Just wanna share some of the photos to recap my activities during the holidays... Been practising culinary skills with my daughters...   Attending wedding and meeting old friends, which happened every weekend during the holidays... Went shopping with the family, esp the girls ( the boys would prefer staying home playing their favourite video games) ...

Yesterday was Hairi's (my nephew) wedding, it was the highlight of our visit to JB....the whole family was there and it was a beautiful wedding...... at this kind of occasion where we meet our long lost relatives and it was like some kind of reunion or something... Selamat pengantin baru  Hairi, semoga bahagia ke anak cucu.... The theme was red and white.... majlis  makan beradab....
