Sport Day

Image
In the past, sport day would start at the beginning of school term but starting this year all schools are directed to hold their sport day in the second term, that is in the month of June......so, starting this month, right after the first term school holiday, most schools will be holding their sport day.....our school held our sport day yesterday and today at my daughters' school... Holding a sport day at school is not a one-day event, it will have to go through many stages before we can really have a one-day event of sports...first, it was the selection and the preliminary round of every event. Then, the preparation  for the marching and house beautifying competitions......both require a lot of time and energy, not to mention money...... There are four houses at my school, red, yellow, blue and green. Mine is yellow and this year we decided that sponge Bob would be our mascot.....so, the marching team and the house would be in the same theme and we would have a pineapple

Ice Room

It's a relatively new restaurant in the neighbourhood and it was the first time we went there for father's day celebration yesterday. There are varieties of selection of its famous snow/shaved ice and ice blended drinks....the kids were so excited and wanted to try all of them...in addition, there is also a section where they put all sort of magazines for the customers to read while waiting for the food to arrive. Aan is enjoying his yam snow ice....he didn't even order food since he had a heavy breakfast in the morning Nani and Mimi were both having spaghetti Bolognese  and a bowl of snow ice each with their favourite varieties, strawberry for Mimi and mango for Nani. Most of all we were celebrating dad on his special day ( Happy father's day)....over all, i would say the food here was okay, nothing extraordinary about it but the snow ice was great, the kids were enjoying it and I enjoyed mine..blueberry with lotta nuts....yummy...

Hot spring

Sungai Klah Hot Spring in Perak is about one hour drive from our house but it was the first time yesterday that we went there... it is a nice family getaway especially when you don't have much time to spend. hubby tried to book Felda Residence Hot Springs but it was fully booked as it is school holidays so we stayed at Felda Residence Trolak instead...we booked 3 rooms as family rooms were all booked up as well.. Anyway, it was fun to spend the whole Friday afternoon at the place.....first we went to water reflexology (the water is quite warm...plus the tickling reflexology stones, it was a good experience), even mom was enjoying herself... the biggest hot pool... You can wash up with cool water from the big tempayan... Nani and dad couldn't stand the heat of the water.. The water is between 40 to 80 degree Celsius And...you can even boil eggs here..the temperature is about 90 -100 degree C Finally, after spending time at the hot pool, it is of course a co

FELT-ing

Image
The other day I was looking forward to having the time of my life doing nothing.....However, when finally  I've got the chance of doing nothing (apart from doing house chores) I was restless (and yesterday I took nap twice in the afternoon). I guess, the same goes to my mom who is forever glued to the sofa watching TV. So, in the end my daughter offers her to sew their felt crafts, at the moment they are preparing the products for their entrepreneur's day which is going to be held in July.. They sew lots of new designs that they target to be bestsellers.... I follow suit to sew this yellow love-shaped and ladybird key chains among others..actually, it was pretty interesting especially when we see the final products. At least I have something to do to spend my free time....

Off duty

Image
TGIF.......and I'm officially off duty today.... it was only two days of stand-by duty and I'm all burnt out. It was not because loads of the work that I had to do, but rather it was nothing that need to be done. I mean I really did something but of course I could do it without being presence at work like alternately surfing the net and marking the exam papers. Really, I would prefer doing it at the comfort of my home rather than being stuck alone at my office waiting for nothing to happen. But, I needed to be there for two boring days..... Anyway, that had been taken care off and today, I will enjoy the remaining days of the mid term break without thinking of work after I've finished marking (hopefully by noon ). I'll be doing the spring cleaning and reorganizing around the house..... alerting all the kids to tidy their rooms. I'll be enjoying the rest of the holidays....attending weddings, going for a picnic maybe, shopping (of course ), celebrating my birthda
