One big happy family...

Image
The last 2 days had been very busy for me....my mum and my siblings came over.... it was such a havoc having almost everybody  from my BIG family around.... Luckily, I had renovated my house though not entirely complete.... or else there wouldn't be enough room for everybody....  It was practically all about cooking and eating and chatting...... I don't remember cooking so many times in my life for two days....  Anyway, it was all worth it...it seems that everybody was happy...... Almost everybody in the pic were coming.... Now, all my siblings had gone back and my mum is staying for a few weeks to spend time with my children. Hope I will be able to give her the best time ever... so there will be some changes in my plan... I will not be able to spend most of my time reading as planned cause it won't be appropriate for me to so while she is around.... I need to think of activities which will include her.... So, I think I need to concentrate on gardening since sh...

It's official

Officially, starting today I'm off from my work...no more duties and no more modules... Apart from a couple pre-planned meetings, I'm having a loong holidays and will break free form the routine .... Well, there are so many things to do (or at least I planned to do) in about a month.. now, maybe I need a check list..... Firstly, of course I need to do some housekeeping around the house.... there are places like kitchen, home library and garden which need some serious attention. Next, I need to give home tuition to my three children who will be sitting for major exams next year.. UPSR, PMR and SPM ( huh, this is a real challenge!!) I mean to get these three LAZY teenagers to study during school holiday??? Who am I kidding?? Well, at least I need to give a try...if it is not working, then, we'll think of other alternatives... Then, I need to finish my reading list...now instead of three, I have five on the list (yesterday my dearest hubby bought me two new released novels ...

Happy Anniversary......

Tomorrow is my anniversary and here I would like to wish my beloved hubby (since I'll be on duty at school tomorrow and he will be sitting for his Final Exam...) I don't even remember my life without you.....hope we (and our family) are blessed on this special day......and all the best in your exam...don't worry about the celebration, we will think of something (special) later... Secondly, it is also my daughter's sixteenth birthday. Happy Sixteenth Birthday Nani.... Don't forget, no more reading novels after this until your SPM next year.... And since I'm at it, I would also like to wish my eldest daughter, Shasha all the best in her upcoming practical......good luck Sha.... And finally to Mimie, my youngest daughter for helping me a lot in designing this blog...

Selamat pengantin baru  Hairi, semoga bahagia ke anak cucu.... The theme was red and white.... majlis  makan beradab....

new members of the family

Image
My eldest daughter brought a rabbit home last week, given by her friend... It is loved by her siblings so much since they have always wanted a rabbit and/or a hamster for so long.. It is taken care of by them and they even named it..Caca Jr Then, two days later, out of the blue, my youngest daughter called me at work saying that her friend wanted to give her two hamsters because she is moving  to a different town..... Then, I told her if she really wanted to have the hamsters, 'go ahead and have it' She accepted the hamsters happily..... Now, they have two hamsters and a rabbit as their pets... Welcome new members of the family...

JB, here we come....

Image
Finally, after more than 5 years I am in JB again.... However, it is not as what I expected...JB is not the beautiful city that I had in mind..... heavy traffic ........dirty places....hazy air..... Anyway, we checked in at about 2.00pm, the hotel is not bad, overlooking Singapore.........

M.U.E.T

I learnt some shocking facts about Malaysian students when I was invigilating MUET (Malaysian University English Test) at a local university yesterday. The first thing that learnt is that these students have rather lackadaisical attitude about almost everything...they didn't really care if they brought all the things required for the exam...such as the exam slip, identity card or the stationery. A number of them left their exam slips or rather lost them....while some didn't even bother to put their IC on the table (only did reluctantly when they were asked to do so....) One funny incident occurred when one candidate brought only one pen and it was just happened to be that his pen was out of ink during the exam, one of my friends had to borrow a pen from the other candidate for him so that he could continue answering..... and the other incident when one of the candidates was caught writing someone else's index number on his answer sheet (for whatever reason it was.....) Th...

Big Flood at my hometown..

Image
When I was a little girl, I had always been wondering of the thrill of having a flood in my area. Those days, the news about flood in the eastern part of Malaysia was a norm but not in the northern part like Kedah. Since the past few years, however, my hometown in Kedah has been hit by flood every time it's monsoon season like what we are having right now. It reminds me of my nostalgic feeling, I really wanted to experience flood in my area. As far as I can remember, I have never experienced one. Even when my hometown has been badly hit, I still didn't get the chance to experience it because I 'm staying in different state. But now, after seeing the news on tv and listening to story from my mother and relatives....about the lack of food supply, the terrible smell, no access road...etc,etc.......I don't think I want to experience it. Let it just be a nostalgia.... The photos are posted by my brother on his facebook on Nov 3rd...and it's still flooding now....

expect the unexpected

In this life, we have to expect the things that is least expected.......Last night, out of the blue my sister called me saying that my youngest sister was admitted to a newly operated private hospital....she was sent there by her friends cum her housemates..... they had to send her there due to a heavy traffic jam (to get to the public hospital) and her condition which was so bad at the time... so, my sister (and my family) who is staying in the northern part of the country asked me to see her at the hospital and take her out of there.....the point is that, even though my family knew that my sister is suffering severe migraine since a few years ago...we never expected that she would be that bad and never in our lives suspected that she one day would be admitted for that...she does not have a medical insurance and the one that I have doesn't cover for a sister.... My family was worried if she to be admitted to the private hospital, the cost would be thousands of ringgit. The doctor ...

Happy Deepavali

Image
I would like to wish a happy Deepavali to my Indian friends and students who will be celebrating tomorrow. My wish specially goes to Dave, Shalu, Jay and Dina.....hopefully your day will fill with joy and happiness along with your family and the people who are really important  to you.......  This morning, I went to Sunway Pyramid with my girls and I saw a really beautiful Kolam decoration there with a decorated elephant on the top, it's really beautiful.......here's for you guys....enjoy... And this one can be seen at The Mid Valley.......

Today is a holiday...

it's a holiday.....and it's a five- day Deepavali holiday...am looking forward to spending more time on reading (I haven't finished reading Paths of Glory which I started 4 months ago). I need too find time for that, but wait before that......need to do the house chores which I kind of ignored during the school days, prepare the module and marking and marking.....oh well, how could I ever spare a little time for myself to indulge in reading with all this waiting list?? Now, stop pondering and start reading....my goal is to finish at least 3 books on my reading list before the year ends.....
