Facebook and me

Facebook has become a commonplace in today's world...it is so popular, even my 6 year-old niece has a facebook account. I was one of those who were hooked to facebook until a few months back... but lately, I find facebook is not appealing to me anymore.... it has robbed all my privacy and I couldn't even be online without anybody trying to chat and sometimes I feel it was annoying when I just wanted to check on updates from some old friends....

Nonetheless, I had to live with that...... the fact that having some 400 plus friends on facebook doesn't give me the privacy when I need it.....that's why I need to find alternative and started blogging i n October. I find that writing a blog is much much more private and I feel like writing a diary when I was a teenager..the only different is that other people can read this "Dear Diary' of mine. But I don't care since I don't really know them personally (except for my hubby and children, who are reading my blog from time to time) I feel I have more freedom to write my thoughts.

Writing on a blog makes me feel like I'm talking to myself....which I think I'm doing a lot all the time...and now that I can say it loud and clear.....Sometimes, I can even express all my inner thoughts (with some filtration, of course). It is like my hiding place from everybody I know in the facebook....

And the blogs that I follow are mostly related to the things that I love...reading, gardening, travelling and last but not least, interior decorating. I have so many things that i love to do in life but I find that I have so little time to do all those, so just by reading about them gives me so much pleasures...

Facebook, however not all that bad....the thing that I love about it until now is keeping in touch with my long lost friends but I will just check my facebook 3 or 4 times a week just to keep me updates and not to get hooked on it again.....

  1. Hi Arlynaz,

I find that blogging is very much like my own Dear Diaries which I used to keep till I was in college. It was also someway through college that I started blogging.

Blogging about my thoughts and my hopes and my sadness. Sometimes no one wants to hear what we have to say but I find blogging gives me an outlet to pour out my heart and vent.

Through blog surfing, I have been inspired just like you and I too find such pleasure at looking at the photos, reading and learning. It definitely makes my days less boring.

:) Keep writing. I am reading.
